Mercedes has dedicated years to working with underserved communities, particularly in youth mentorship and counseling. She previously served as a Counselor at Collins Elementary School in Pinole, CA, where she worked closely with students, providing supervision and support. Her passion for youth development also extends to her time as a Youth Counselor with Evans Property Management, Inc., where she provided after-school tutoring, organized field trips, and conducted outreach to engage young people in positive activities.
Her focus is budgeting and inventory management skills—both critical to her role in overseeing CATCH Initiative’s financial operations. Her experience has helped her build strong financial management skills, ensuring transparency and efficiency in nonprofit financial planning.
